Skills you might not appreciate from the house...
Today, getting my lunch, my friend and I discovered an almost full container of milk in the fridge at work. No cap. Completely separated into solid and liquid. So there's me, my friend, and super-sys-admin-guy. Guess which one of us makes the executive decision that it should just go away and is not too disgusted/scared of the aged milk to pour it out and then wipe up the sink? And what do I think about it? "Eh, it's like cleaning personal refer at the beginning of summer. Still beats the burton 5 kitchens we had to clean."

Joys of home ownership
Some things never change...we decided one of the rose bushes we had was a multiflora and pulled it up, and we've now been told that most of the trees in the back of the yard are Norway maples. Current Mood: weed wrench!

Winter 2008 Alumni Newsletter
I just received my Epsilon Theta alumni newsletter, and it got its ass thoroughly kicked by the USPS. Did anyone else's also show up badly mutilated, or was my copy the only one subjected to experimental torture techniques?

e-t.org is back.
Blown power supply. Well, only partially blown as the cables I check were fine, but apparently I didn't check the right ones.

e-t.org is down due to a power failure. Will update as/when/if the situation improves.
ETA: Power is back, but the computer won't boot!

e-t.org is back up and better than ever.
There may be bits of the website that are still not 100% as there may be a missing perl package or two, but other than that, everything should be as it was. Let me know if you find anything broken.

epsilon-theta.org will be experiencing some unexpected down time. I seem to be experiencing some hardware flakiness that may require a new machine. I will try to get a temporary e-t.org up and running at least mail and some of the web services within a couple of days.

so a certain hamster has said that the pit needs some muraling. This, or course, is something I'm excessively excited about. currently, the pit white, the bob has a new bob in there, and the wall nearest the door is ... mint green? a little more spring green? something like that.
So I think it's time to throw some ideas out and see what he goes for.
- Alyse's mural is gone, but that was cool- something similar to that in the pit would be nice
- the paint in middle back was really great- the glow in the dark stars and the rose painting
- since there's a wall that is green, we could give it some grass and trees and make that wall a woods. Could even put an arch around the door! this would be a lot of work and a lot of paint.
- I still want something like wiley coyote by the wall next to dungeon where the women's head door used to be. This is probably not so funny to anyone younger than... those who just graduated... or aren't female and haven't walked into that wall ;9
- I like glow in the dark paint. Thomas wants to take advantage of blacklight. I think this is a good combination ;9 However, I'm not sure what to do with it offhand.

On the CMI front
continuing BSN's post on the health and continued existance of CMI students, Jo is alive and fine, and so is everyone he knows. I'm still waiting to hear from this year's CMI students.

I exist, therefore you're wrong...
Ta-da! I'm back from the dead, all gradumatated and everything!
I don't use my name online - just the same username - (some desperate, doomed attempt at security) so you'll have to guess, but I'll tell you that my last name isn't Leung, I just finished at Whitman College, and my SO (also a friend of yours) and I have more food allergies than anyone else on the planet, so now you know.
How are you all? I hear there's been quite the soap opera since I left: how shocking!
Trivia fact of the day: Whitman's unofficial mascot? The duck. (There's a duckfest every year where about 50 people make and decorate ducks in all different themes. I did a carpet called "Ducks a la Escher.")

FYI, e-t.org will be down today. Had a UPS problem this morning. Plugged the computer into wall, but forgot about the switch, so it has no network. Should be back up around 5pm EDT.

I must be really bored
So, since everything is quiet, the undergrads are free from term, and all of that, I'm sitting her on my last day of work for a week or so, wondering things like "who would be who in the thetan christmas carol?" except there aren't a lot of interesting characters that I can remember offhand (wow, haven't seen/read it in a while ;9 )
Now, can't you see mo as the ghost of christmas past or present, calling whoever our scooge would be a loser? Better yet, have mo be a guide like jiminy cricket in the disney version and free up the ghosts for other people. Maybe Jarok for christmas future, juan could be tiny tim (yeah, I know, "what about jeannie?")
ok, stoping now ;9

Yay, community for thetans!
Boo, lack of people in it.
